The V Foundation, in collaboration with ESPN, established the Stuart Scott Memorial Cancer Research Fund to honor the beloved sportscaster Stuart Scott who passed away in 2015.

Stuart was a passionate advocate for cancer research, particularly focused on improving outcomes for African Americans and underserved communities disproportionately affected by cancer.

A donation to the Stuart Scott Memorial Cancer Research Fund will help drive vital research dedicated to ending cancer disparities and supporting underrepresented scientists doing lifesaving work.

The V Foundation is committed to achieving Victory Over Cancer®, and you can join Michael by giving a gift today to support the Stuart Scott Memorial Cancer Research Fund and game-changing cancer research.

100% of direct donations will directly benefit the most-cutting edge cancer researchers at the best cancer research institutions across North America. Your gift will give scientists the tools to better understand this disease, improve treatment options, and save lives.

A Message from Michael:

"The year was 1997, and I was attending my first ever convention for the National Association of Black Journalists. At the time, like so many aspiring sports journalists, my dream was to work at ESPN. On the second day of the convention, I came across a guy standing in an aisle practicing his golf swing, and for a golf nut like me, it was an instant recognition of my people. That guy was Stuart Scott and that chance meeting in Chicago was the beginning of one of my most cherished friendships resulting in many more NABJ conventions.. and golf swings.

In 2015, my dream of working for ESPN came true.. just four months after Stu's battle with cancer ended. Since then, I've been committed to keeping his legacy alive by continuing his mission to end racial disparities in cancer detections and treatments, and that's why I'm proud to partner with the V Foundation and serve on the Boo-Yah Committe which raises money specifically for the Stuart Scott Memorial Cancer Research Fund. With the help of your support and donations, this fund is truly changing lives for cancer thrivers and their loved ones - and if that's not worth a Boo-Yah! then I don't know what is!"
