The V Foundation for Cancer Research was founded in 1993 by ESPN and the late Jim Valvano, legendary North Carolina State University basketball coach and ESPN commentator.
The V Foundation has funded nearly $400 million in game-changing cancer research grants nationwide through a competitive process strictly supervised by a world-class Scientific Advisory Committee.
Because the V Foundation has an endowment to cover administrative expenses, 100% of direct donations is awarded to cancer research and programs. The V Foundation is committed to accelerating Victory Over Cancer®.
Leverage The Google Matching Gift Program!
General Donations: Google matches personal donations to nonprofits, up to $10,000 per employee each year.
Fundraising Events: Google will match funds employees personally raise for a charitable event they actively participate in (e.g., walks, marathons, bike rides).
How to Apply
Employees can submit matching requests through the Google intranet (search “matching gifts”) or directly at google.benevity.org.
Deadline: All requests must be submitted by January 31 of the year following the donation.

The 2025 event raised $10.5M!
